Economic booms happen because of industry. New (or revitalized) industries create booms, not government or politicians. There was tech. There was telecom. There was energy. There was banking. There was housing.. everyone got involved in that one. Therein lies the problem. Not everyone can prosper: it’s basic economics. But everyone did… for awhile. Now we are house rich and cash poor. Everyone has sweet, remodeled houses and nobody can afford to buy them or pay rent for them. What will fix it? Probably the rich guys that everyone on this post seems to hate, investing in businesses (taking a capitalistic chance) and new industries will rise from the ashes. The government cannot do this and history shows any attempts to do this have failed miserably.
